I an sending this letter to all three agencies - I am aware that neither the Jonesboro Police Department nor the Craighead County Sheriff's Office are the agencies to investigate this type of crime. The Arkansas State Police CID might have an interest at some point.

This is quite serious as I may be one of a very few or possibly the only living witness to a number of serious crimes that have occurred in Jonesboro. The Attorney General is the person obligated and qualified to investigate this matter but I can not get past the gatekeepers at his office. I have been in communication with the offices of the governor and attorney general and the people screening the mail seem unable to understand the problem or how serious and urgent it is. The governor and attorney general are busy and must rely on the judgment of their staff and for some reason they are not understanding the need for action. I am looking for someone able to get the attention of someone in the Attorney General's office above the level of the clerical staff who send me form letter replies stating that it is not a matter for the Attorney General to investigate. If I could address it to a specific member of the staff (e.g. an attorney or investigator) it would be helpful.

I had a similar problem in writing to the governor but was able to ask a family friend in the state senate to inquire and was able to establish communication. Thus far I don't seem to have gotten past the mail screeners in the ofice of the Attorney General. Communicating by mail is slow as it is and I am disabled and often ill and can only go to the post office about once a week but I have found that email and website contacts seldom get results for making initial contact.
