This was a physical (no mental health patients) rehabilitation and recovery facility and did not receive critically ill patients. It did not operate an emergency room and did not have intensive care section and did not perform surgery or any function other than monitoring and care of stabilized patients. If the condition of a patient deteriorated that patient should have been transferred to one of the general hospitals. The death rate during the seven years of operation was over twenty per year. Of the documented deaths almost half were under the age of seventy and a large number were under sixty with some under forty.

That is a description of the recently closed Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro. The hospital is closed but the operators are known to me. Furthermore every patient was transferred from a regular hospital, many from the big hospitals in Jonesboro and nearby Paragould. These hospitals are very much in business and knew or should have known of the danger to the patients they sent there. I also know that there were multiple lawsuits against them, some for wrongful death. I have a list of 156 deaths and am fairly certain it isn't complete.
